The young man who learned what cannot be taught

Once upon a time, there lived in Basra an old man whose only occupation was caring for and loving his only son who was a handsome young man. The old man invested all his money on his son's education. The young man went away for a few years and acquired an education at a well known university under the great scholars of that age.

The day had arrived for the son to return from his studies and the old man waited at the door for his son. When the son came and met his father, the old man looked into his eyes and felt great disappointment. "What have you learnt my son?" he asked, "I have learnt everything there was to be learnt, father", he said. "But have you learnt what cannot be taught?" asked the father. "Go, my son and learn what cannot be taught", said the old man.

The young man went back to his master and asked him to teach him what cannot be taught.
"Go away to the mountains with these four hundred sheep and come back when they are one thousand", said the master.

The young man went to the mountains and became a shepherd. There for the first time he encountered a silence. He had no one to talk to. The sheep did not understand his language. In his desperation, he would talk to them but they would look back at him as if to say he was stupid. Slowly but surely he began to forget all his worldly knowledge, his ego, his pride and he became quiet like the sheep and great wisdom and humility came to him.

At the end of two years when the number of sheep had grown to one thousand, he returned to his master and fell on his feet. "Now you have learnt what cannot be taught," said the master.

NB. It is interesting to note that the Nabis of Allah Taala (Alayhimus salaam) at some time in their lives, generally before Nubuwwat, tended to sheep, and other such animals.

THE STORY OF THE MIRACLE OF THE GRAVEL PEBBLES

Once Abu Jahl had some gravel pebbles hidden in his hand. He asked RasulAllah(SAW) "If you are truly Allah's Messenger, tell me what I have in my hand? Youinform people of things from beyond the heavens, therefore it should be easy foryou to tell me what is in my hand".RasulAllah (SAW) replied: "Shall I inform you of what is in your hand, or should thethings in your hand themselves tell you who I am? "Abu Jahl retorted: "I would like both things". RasulAllah (SAW) said: "There are sixpebbles in your hand".Then at the command of RasulAllah (SAW) ~ everyone of the pebbles began torecite the Kalima Shahaadah. When Abu Jahl saw this miracle, he became soangry that he threw the pebbles hard on the ground and turned to go home.May his head remain covered in dust. The accursed one remained blind to thetruth and his eyes were like that of the accursed Iblees who saw Nabi Adam (A.S.)as a mere being created of dust. He could not see the soul which was crowned with'the crown of prophethood. Of that he was completely unaware.

Allah is always calling you..

Salam wr wb,

there's this song that i'm currently listening to and loving it,

imagine that the lyrics of this song is like Allah's the one talking to you, if a love of a creation towards a creation can be strong, then know that the love of Allah s.w.t towards us is infinity times stronger than anything.. basically here are some of the lyrics(in malay):

Sayang apa khabar dengan mu
Cobalah kamu telepon diriku
Ku rindu dengar suara indahmu
Kerna dirimulah semangat hidupku

now imagine that Allah is saying to you:
"My beloved serveant, how are you?
come and call Me (du'a/prayer)
because I miss listening to your beautiful voice.."
Sayang dengarlah permintaan ku
Jangan ragu kan cintaku
Sayang percayalah apa kataku
Kerna ku sayang kamu

"dear beloved servant of Mine, listen to My wish,
please don't doubt My love towards you
O My beloved servant, believe in My words
for I have always loved you.."

Sayang dengarlah permintaanku
Jaga hatimu untukku
Sayang dengarlah bisikan hatiku
Kerna ku sayang kamu

"dear beloved servant of Mine, listen to My demands and wish
take care of your heart (for the devil will always try to steal you away from Me)
dear beloved servant, listen to My whisper
because I've always love you .."

ya Allah, please make us a true servant of Yours and forgive all of our entire sins for there is no Forgiver except for You.. please guide us always ya rabb and make us a servant that You love..

An Incident of Intense Love

Maulana Rumi R.A narrated that Sultan Mahmood once summoned his sixty five ministers and ordered them to crush the most valuable gemstone in his treasury. They all declined on the grounds that they could not bring themselves to destroy the most valuable and celebrated piece of gemstone in the treasury. He then ordered Ayaaz, his closest vizier, to destroy the same gemstone. Ayaaz obeyed and soon the unique gemstone lay crushed into a thousand fragments. The ministers on seeing this expressed shock and anger at Ayaaz for breaking the most priceless gemstone. The Sultan also responded:"O Ayaaz, you are indeed audacious and ungrateful! Answer these ministers now and tell them why you broke the gemstone."Ayaaz turned to the ministers and said:Which is more important,The Royal decree or the gemstone?Maulana Rumi R.A from this incident is advising us that if our heart breaks in obeying the command of Allah (SWT) then let it break. But the order and command of Allah (SWT) should not break. These desires of lust that lurk in our hearts can be likened to the gemstones that appear very beautiful and pleasing to look at.Nevertheless, we should boldly crush them and uphold the commands of Allah(SWT) Who has ordered us to control our gazes.

Al-Fatihah ila al-marhum Shaykh Sa'id Ramadhan Al-Bouthi

"I spoke to him on the phone two weeks ago and the last thing he said to me was: "Only a few days of my life remain and I shall breathe the air of Paradise; do not forget your brother in your prayers.""

Alhabib Ali Al-Jifri.
"
Message from al-Habib Umar bin Hafidh (Hafidhullah) on the Death of Shaykh Muhammad Said Ramadan al-Buti

Bismillah

It is with great sadness that we announce the murder of the great scholar Shaykh Muhammad Said Ramadan al-Buti.

We ask Allah to raise him to the highest ranks of Jannah and bring forth those that will fill the gap in the Ummah that his loss has caused.

May Allah swt releive the suffering of the people of Syria and unite their hearts on the truth.

Ameen.

From his [qs] words of wisdom:

“In this place, we pray to God to make our hearts containers of the love of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings be upon Him).” -
Shaykh Dr. Muhammad Sa‘id Ramadan Al-Buti

May Allah [swt] blessed his soul and gather him with his beloved. Al-Fatihah.

Ya Allah, each year you're taking back your beloved with You.. it hurts so much. Please don't leave us unguided ya rabb.

من أراد..

Those who wants a friend, then God is sufficient for him..
Those who wants to be sociable, then the Quran is sufficient for him..

Those who wants to be rich, then contentment is sufficient for him..
Those who are in need of advice, then (remembering of) Death is sufficient for him..
And those who are not satisfied(content) with this for, then may God guide him..

Confession of a broken slave: For the sake of Your love for me

My wings are broken

Yet You are there to mend it

I ran away from You for someone else

Yet You are always there watching over me and protecting me

I always tried to forget You

but You are always there calling my name, remembering me

I am so lost

Yet You know how far i am from You,You guided me

I kept rebelling against You

But Your reply was "I have always love you"

You kept calling me to run towards You

You kept sending me reminders that this is not the eternal life

Even though i don't listen to You and take You for granted,

Your kindness act is as though i am the only servant You have

Your love for me has flushed me away

Knowing that i can't even trust myself and my good deeds

For i know that Your love for me is true

And it's the only hope that i have now to meet You

You love me for who i am

Even for being an idiot in rebelling You

Even for not trusting You

Even though i'm just a dust among pearls

You kept watching over me and guiding me

Your love never fails me

So i am trusting you now ya rabb

I am a liar for saying "i love You"

I can't even trust my love for You

But for the sake of Your love and mercy for me,

Please don't deny me in front of You and Your beloved

Please let me see you at least once in the after life with all of Your beloved

After that, let it be.. do as You wish..

Throw me in the hell fire as long as it's Your will..

But please don't deny me from seeing Your Beauty

For the sake of Your true love for me

That's all what i need..

For You are the Most Loving and Merciful
